After removing both engines it was time to start hopping up the 454. I did not want to deal with computer issues so I got rid of the TBI and went with a Jet Stage II carbuerator on a Weiand Action Plus aluminum intake.
With the help of Mike C it was decided that a Crane Cams 266 Energizer would be a good cam. I went with a set of their lifters and springs and a set of Comp Cams Magnum rocker arms. Had to add a fuel pump as the engine was previously fuel injected and I went ahead and replaced the oil pump while it was accessible. For a distributor I went with a MSD Ready to Run unit. It is small than an HEI so that will be a bonus.
